Świętokrzyskie Prevention Days 2026 – a conference on supporting children, young people and families
On 18 May 2026, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Office in Kielce will host the conference “Family and Adversity”, inaugurating the 23rd Świętokrzyskie Prevention Days. The event will focus on the challenges faced by today’s children, young people and families, as well as on ways to effectively support school and educational environments.
The opening meeting of this year’s Świętokrzyskie Prevention Days is hosted by Józef Bryk, Voivode of the Świętokrzyskie Region. The conference is co-organised by Agata Wojda, Mayor of Kielce.
The conference is addressed primarily to teachers, representatives of local governments, educational and care institutions, social workers, pedagogues, psychologists, psychotherapists and all those involved in prevention and support activities for children, young people and families.
This year’s theme – “Family and Adversity” – reflects the character of the event. The conference programme covers topics related, among others, to adverse childhood experiences, prevention in school and family environments, digital addictions, cyberviolence, peer violence, and support for children and young people experiencing emotional crises.
Why is it worth taking part?
Participation in the conference may be particularly valuable for people working in schools and educational institutions. The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from the perspective of specialists and deepen knowledge on how to recognise risk factors and respond effectively to the difficulties faced by children and young people.
The programme includes presentations by experts in child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychotherapy, clinical psychology, education, prevention and counteracting violence. The topics discussed will include family relationships, the impact of difficult childhood experiences on later life, problems related to screens and technology, cyberviolence and hate as a form of peer violence.
