An Educational Corner in Bilcza. Resources for learning Polish and working together

On 19 October, Father Piotr Ściegienny Primary School in Bilcza received the “Friendly School – Świętokrzyskie” Educational Corner. Textbooks, games and educational resources will help pupils learn Polish, get to know one another and work together in the classroom.

On 19 October 2026, Father Piotr Ściegienny Primary School in Bilcza received the “Friendly School – Świętokrzyskie” Educational Corner. Textbooks, games and educational materials are intended to support pupils in learning Polish and working together, including those with migration experience.

The handover is part of the work of the Integration Europe – East Association, the regional operator of Module 2 of the “Friendly School” programme. The resources will remain at the school for use in future lessons, language classes and integration activities.

Polish in lessons and everyday conversations

Understanding an instruction, reading a task or explaining an idea requires language skills. For children studying in a new country, this is an important part of everyday school life. Resources for learning Polish as a foreign language help develop the skills needed both in lessons and when communicating with peers.

The Educational Corner combines textbooks and language learning resources with games and materials about integration, cultural diversity and communication. They can be used for individual work, small group sessions and shared classroom activities. This allows teachers to adapt their approach to pupils’ needs and levels of Polish.

Resources that help pupils learn together

Playing a game, completing a task or discussing a book together creates opportunities to get to know one another and cooperate. The Educational Corner is also intended to help build relationships between children from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Its resources can support teachers in preparing activities in which everyone can take part.

Providing these materials to the school makes this support available every day. Teachers and pupils can return to them when exploring new topics, practising vocabulary and planning integration activities.

We thank the community of Father Piotr Ściegienny Primary School in Bilcza for their cooperation within the “Friendly School” programme!
