A School Where Everyone Belongs — Teacher Training at Primary School No. 18 in Kielce
Finding your place in a class can be challenging, especially after moving to another country. At the latest Friendly School training session, we explored how teachers can help students build relationships and feel part of their school community.
Another anti-discrimination training session for teaching staff took place on 29 September 2026 at Primary School No. 18 in Kielce. The session was led by psychologist Dr Katarzyna Krzystanek.
The meeting continued our series for teachers across the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship on working with students from other countries. Once again, we focused on everyday life in a multicultural classroom: communication, mutual understanding and creating an environment where every student can feel safe.
Understanding students’ needs
During the session, we discussed language and cultural barriers, along with ways to help young people settle into a new environment. Particular attention was given to building positive relationships with students whose experiences may differ from those of their peers.
We also talked about how to prevent feelings of exclusion and loneliness. The session brought together psychological insight and classroom practice, exploring how to respond to young people’s needs, help them understand one another and strengthen their sense of belonging in the class.
Thank you to the staff of Primary School No. 18 in Kielce for taking part, and to Dr Katarzyna Krzystanek for leading the session.
