Primary School No. 18 in Kielce at off-site integration workshops in Tokarnia

12 June 2026 Students, parents and teachers explored the heritage of the Świętokrzyskie region, developed photographic sensitivity and strengthened relationships within a multicultural school community.

The Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia once again became a space for meeting, integration and the shared discovery of the heritage of the Świętokrzyskie region. This time, Polish and foreign students, parents and teachers from Primary School No. 18 named after Zbigniew Kruszelnicki “Wilk” in Kielce took part in the off-site integration workshops.

The event was organised as part of the project “Improving the level of well-being of the school community in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship”. Its aim was to strengthen relationships within the school community, foster openness to diversity and create a friendly space for shared learning and integration.

During the visit, participants learned about the history, folk architecture and traditions of the old Świętokrzyskie countryside. The walk through the open-air museum was an opportunity for conversations, exchange of experiences and joint discovery of places that show the cultural richness of the region.

A special part of the event was the photography workshop with elements of folk culture. Participants learned how to look at space, light, architecture and details in order to tell the story of a place, its history and atmosphere through photography.

During the workshop, the basics of framing, image composition, colour and the conscious use of a camera and smartphone were discussed. An important element of the activities was to show that photography can be accessible to everyone — regardless of age, experience or equipment.

The trip to Tokarnia combined regional education, intercultural integration and the development of creative skills. It was also an opportunity to strengthen ties between students, parents and teachers and to build a sense of belonging to the local community.
